Sara Crawford

Sara has been involved in theatre since she was a little kid, acting, singing, and dancing in various community theatre productions and school plays, writing and directing productions staring all of the neighborhood kids in her driveway whenshe was eight years old. When she was attending Kennesaw State University getting a Bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing, she started to take playwrighting a little bit more seriously, getting her work on the stage. In the fall of 2007, she produced and directed her play, Painted, through the KSU Underground Theatre and Film Movement, the first ever full-length student-written play to be given a full production.

In the summer of 2008, Sara's play Painted was accepted into the New South Young Playwright's Festival at Horizon Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. She then went on to do a playwriting apprenticeship at Horizon for the 2008-2009 season, and she has been asked to write a series of plays for the 2010 apprenticeship spring production. She was also accepted into the MFA in Playwriting program at New Orleans University, where she will be studying beginning in the fall of 2010.
